Counter-apologetics: Teach the controversy

If Creationists got their way(s), the Theory of Evolution wouldn’t be discussed in schools, but instead, the Genesis creation account (read: myth).

The phrase “teach the controversy” originated with Prof. Gerald Graff, of University of Illinois at Chicago. But it really wasn’t meant to be hijacked in the manner that the Discovery Institute has. A little research on the topic reveals that he later showed some resentment about how the phrase has been used to benefit creationists’ agenda.

The beautiful part about this, is if you are ever in a debate with someone like Wendy Wright (video), you could just suggest that equal time be given to the “stork theory” or “flat earth theory”.

That’ll blister their asses. But only momentarily. They’ll surely come up with something stupid to retort.
